This workshop will use Narrative practices including outsider witness to begin to explore:

  • Walking alongside older people and responding to later life challenges as systemic therapists

  • Themes of age and ageism that impact on later life families and on the self of the therapist

  • Stories of ageing from “older” and “younger” positions – considering our personal and professional selves

  • How to address challenges and take actions to reduce ageism within the profession

  • Intergenerational learning: honouring the past and listening to the present to co-create approaches that fit for our diverse futures

The conference is organised by the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice
