Presentation of a pilot project commissioned to provide intensive day treatment for young people as an alternative to Tier 4 admission for Eating disorders. A project set up to offer intensive day treatment as an alternative to admission and for the whole family using MFT approach. The project is systemically led and uses the multi family approach to address assessment, refeeding, skill development and reduce isolation for family's with a young person in starvation. The session will give an over view of the project but also insights into the use of systemic Multi family therapy that could be adapted to many settings. There will also be a chance to also try some MFT activities as experiential learning.
Workshop 2: Finding an anchor on an inpatient CAMHS ward

We found ourselves in the choppy waters of inpatient camhs, lost at sea between the old world of therapeutic communities and the new worlds of current camhs where risk and complexity was met with impasse. Two of us went on NVR training and then a series of fortunate events and a heap of persistence granted us funding for whole team training. Two years on and over one hundred staff have been trained on 1 day training, the training now enshrined as mandatory, with many staff completing 4 day training. The staff morale has rocketed, and restrictive practice decreased. We want to share the story of our journey briefly, from it's history told by us to the current and future ways systemic practice through NVR has been threaded through daily practices where newer- to- systemic- ideas colleagues will share it's impact on their work and together share our vision for the future.
